About Us - Our History
HomePride Bank is your hometown bank, offering a full line of consumer and business banking products and services.
We’re a community bank; locally owned and managed. The present board consists of Jean Coday, chairman, Jane Coday, Dale Freeman, Mike Roberts, Chris Miller, Jim Coker, and Joe Coday, CEO- who is the great-great grandson of our founder, G.W. Freeman.
The Bank of Mansfield, now chartered as HomePride Bank, was established in 1892, and is the oldest business in Mansfield. While our name has changed, our commitment to service has remained the same. Over the years we have expanded beyond Mansfield, adding locations in Fordland, Norwood, Seymour, and Ava.
Our founders believed that a strong bank was essential for a thriving community. It was so important that in 1933, at the time of his death, the bank’s first president, G.W. Freeman pledged a sufficient amount of his own personal assets to ensure that the bank could continue to operate through the Great Depression. HomePride Bank is now distinguished as the only independent home-owned bank still operating in Wright County.
Our history is steeped in commitment to both our customers and the communities we serve. We honor and continue that tradition. We’re proud to be community bankers, hometown supporters, and partners in the progress of our region.
